My name is Sally Whittle and I am a freelance copywriter and social media consultant based in Lancashire.

I studied post-graduate journalism at City University, London, before starting work as a technology journalist in London.
During my journalism career, I worked as a staff writer and features editor on Computing and InformationWeek.
As a freelance journalist over a period of 20 years, I’ve contributed to an enormous number of magazines and websites including Computer Weekly, Personnel Today, Health Service Journal, Third Sector, Retail Week and Business Matters. I’ve written editorial and sponsored content for newspapers including the Independent, Times, Guardian and Daily Telegraph.
While much of my work focuses on technology and business strategy, I’ve written everything from tech reviews for ZDNet to features about Gwyneth Paltrow’s cookery book for the Daily Mirror.

Social Media Consulting
For the past eight years, I have worked as a digital and social media consultant. My role is to help companies create and deliver online content that connects with audiences, particularly in the parenting, food and lifestyle sectors.
Brands I have worked with on social media campaigns include: McDonald’s, Sony, GoPro, Center Parcs, Visit Dubai, Nutella, Pampers, Kia, Microsoft, Oreo and many more.

I have launched numerous conferences and award programmes in the social media sector. I also work with brands to plan events and secure attendees at product launches, store launches and promotional events.
I’ve worked with brands such as Microsoft, River Cottage and Thorntons to secure attendees at launches and marketing events. I have also helped organisations such as The Meningitis Trust and Department for Education arrange round-tables and forums where experts and parents come together to discuss important issues.
I’m an experienced public speaker, and have presented at a range of conferences speaking about social media, parenting and wider cultural issues. I have appeared on national BBC television and radio programmes on numerous occasions, and have worked with many clients as a spokesperson for radio days.
I’m an experienced trainer, and can deliver in-house training workshops as well as hosting public training workshops in Manchester and London. Key training types I deliver include:
